Description

The ebro FOM 330-1 is a HACCP-compliant frying oil tester and oil quality measuring instrument that helps determine the optimal time for an oil change. Aged frying oil can contain potentially health-relevant substances such as acrylamide, which may transfer into the fried food and reduce its quality. By indicating precisely whether the oil can still be used, the device supports consistently high product quality while monitoring the prescribed limit value for TPM (polar compounds). Premature oil changes are avoided, which helps lower operating costs and prevents inferior frying results. Measured variables are temperature and TPM. The measuring range covers +50 °C to 200 °C and 0 % to 40 % TPM, with resolution of 0,1 °C and 0,5 % and accuracy of ± 1 °C and ± 2 %. The unit weighs approximately 200 g, offers IP67 protection and measures 314 × 54 × 22 mm. Power is supplied by a user-replaceable 3 V lithium battery; a factory calibration certificate is included. The FOM 330-1 set from manufacturer Ebro – a Xylem brand is delivered with a hand guard in a carrying case that shields against heat and splashing oil, ensures safe handling and provides storage space for the instrument, documents and optional reference oil CO 330.

What is this article?

FOM 330-1 - Set, Food oil monitor set is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Ebro - a Xylem brand for laboratory use. It sits in Digital thermometers, inside Temperature measurement, in Lab instruments.

A digital thermometer is a display plus a sensor. The resolution on the screen can be finer than the accuracy. The stated accuracy and the calibration point are what the number is worth. The probe type has to be the one the meter expects.

A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
