The long, ergonomically shaped, sturdy handle and pointed blade allow direct piercing into paper or plastic sacks, supporting efficient sampling without secondary tools. The vivid blue colour does not occur naturally in foodstuffs, so any fragment that might enter a process stream is quickly spotted during visual inspection, supporting HACCP, IFS and BRC foreign-body management.
