Description

Cross connector in polypropylene (PP) for hose inner diameters of 13–15 mm is a four-way cylindrical tubing junction for laboratory and process fluid handling. Cylindrical hose barbs allow secure joining, extension, branching, merging or repair of flexible tubing in sampling, media distribution and temporary circuit setups. The largest compatible hose inner diameter is 14 mm. Made from sterilizable polypropylene and temperature-resistant up to max. +135 °C, the fitting suits applications that need chemical resistance with thermal stability. Bürkle offers a broad portfolio of hose connectors in varied forms, sizes and material properties to match diverse process demands. This compact cross piece links four lines in one component while remaining lightweight and easy to handle at the bench or in production. Net weight is 0,052 kg. Supplied non-sterile in packs of 10 pieces for general laboratory use; dual-use classification does not apply. Robust PP construction supports repeated assembly without unnecessary bulk.

Questions about Four-way connector, PP, for Ø 13-15mm, cylindrical

What is this article?

Four-way connector, PP, for Ø 13-15mm, cylindrical is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bürkle for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
