Description

The fractionating column according to Vigreux NS 29/32 is a jacketed laboratory distillation column designed for efficient fractional separation. This model features both a cone joint NS 29/32 and a socket joint NS 29/32, a total length of 500 mm and 25 rings that enlarge the internal surface available for vapour–liquid exchange. The integrated glass jacket allows optional temperature control or insulation during operation. Supplied as 1 pc with a net weight of 0,68 kg, the column is ready for incorporation into standard ground-joint distillation trains. Manufactured by Witeg, it is intended for organic chemistry, purification and analytical laboratories that require reliable fractionation of multi-component mixtures. The Vigreux indentations promote successive condensation and re-evaporation cycles, improving separation of components with close boiling points without loose packing. The dual NS 29/32 joints ensure straightforward connection to flasks, condensers and receivers, while the 500 mm length provides enhanced separation capacity for routine bench-scale work.

Questions about Fractionating columns, Vigreux, w. glas

What is this article?

Fractionating columns, Vigreux, w. glas is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Witeg for laboratory use. It sits in Distillation heads, adapters & columns, inside Distillation & extraction glassware, in Labware.

A still head, an adapter or a column is the glass between the boiling flask and the condenser. A Vigreux or packed column gives the vapour a surface so a closer-boiling mixture can separate. The joint sizes at both ends have to match the flask and the condenser.

Distillation separates liquids by boiling point. A condenser turns the vapour back into liquid: Liebig, coil and cold-finger shapes differ in how much cooling surface they offer. A still head and a column sit between the flask and the condenser. A Soxhlet extractor washes a solid again and again with the same solvent. Ground joints have a standard size, and the joint, not the flask, is what has to match. The pieces are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
