Description

GS1-E pH electrode for GroStar GS1 is a replacement pH sensing probe designed for the GroStar™ GS1 pocket meter and also compatible with GroStar™ GS2 and GroStar™ GS4 instruments. It uses a lithium glass membrane together with a double junction and gel KCl electrolyte referenced to Ag/AgCl, supporting stable pH measurement across the full 0 to 14 range with high accuracy and extended service life at low maintenance. An integrated 30 kΩ thermistor temperature sensor covers 0 to 50 °C (32 to 122 °F), enabling automatic temperature-related compensation when used with the matching meter. The polycarbonate housing measures 75×35×35 mm and the probe attaches quickly without extra tools, so a worn electrode can be exchanged without discarding the entire instrument. Intended for hydroponic, garden and general laboratory pH checks within the GroStar series, the electrode from manufacturer APERA Instruments carries a twelve-month manufacturer warranty. Product type is specified as pH electrode; shaft material is plastic and the reference electrolyte is gel. Diameter is 35 mm and length 75 mm according to the technical data.

Questions about GS1-E pH Electrode for GroStar GS1

What is this article?

GS1-E pH Electrode for GroStar GS1 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
