Description

GS5-E ORP electrode for GroStar meters enables reliable redox-potential measurement of nutrient solutions and other liquids when connected to compatible GroStar instruments. The electrode works with GroStar GS1, GS2 and GS4 meters; upon connection the instrument automatically recognises the probe and switches into ORP measurement mode. A platinum sensor combined with double-junction construction delivers stable ORP readings across the range –1000 to 1000 mV. The reference system employs an Ag/AgCl electrode with gel KCl electrolyte, while an integrated 30 kΩ thermistor covers sample temperatures from 0 to 50 °C. The polycarbonate housing measures 75 × 35 × 35 mm and attaches quickly without tools. This electrode from manufacturer APERA Instruments is supplied with a 12-month manufacturer warranty and is intended for hydroponic, agricultural and laboratory applications that require ORP monitoring alongside pH. Double-diaphragm design enhances measurement stability across varied sample matrices commonly encountered in nutrient-solution analysis.

Questions about GS5-E ORP Electrode for GroStar Pocket Testers

What is this article?

GS5-E ORP Electrode for GroStar Pocket Testers is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
