Heating cable PILZ® WKG is a glass-silk insulated laboratory and industrial heating cable delivering 600 W at a specific power of 150 W/m, with a maximum operating temperature of 400 °C. The flexible element measures 4,0 m in length and about 6,0 mm in diameter, runs on 230 VAC, and is finished with 1,0 m connection leads on both sides. Dual outer layers of flexible glass silk provide insulation; the design is not moisture-protected and requires a minimum bend radius greater than 6 mm. A single heating spiral ensures high, constant power per metre for rapid heat-up where strong power density or elevated temperatures are needed in the laboratory, pilot plant, or production. From manufacturer Winkler, the PILZ® WKG cable is extremely flexible, simple to mount, and cost-effective, yet the high wattage per metre demands good thermal contact with the object. Cables must not overlap or touch when installed, and surface temperature will exceed that of the heated item. Operation together with a temperature controller is always recommended for fixed-resistance heating cables of this type.
