Description
Ice drill, V4A, with inner × outer diameter 50×54 mm and a drilling depth of 200 mm is a robust hollow-core sampler for deep-frozen products in the food and luxury-food sector as well as for semi-solid materials. Its sharp saw crown cuts rapidly into the sample medium so that a cylindrical cross-section core can be removed. The ice drill mounts on a conventional power drill and bores quickly to the desired depth, enabling a representative core sample from all layers of the frozen medium without heavy manual effort. Depending on the version, core samples can be taken from depths of up to 100 or 200 mm; this model is specified for 200 mm. An ejector loosens the sample from the drill head with ease. Made from stainless steel V4A (1.4404/1.4571) by manufacturer Bürkle, the tool is sterilizable and suitable for food contact. It supports quality control in food and feed laboratories, for example when sampling frozen meat for meat inspection, and also handles other deep-frozen substances such as frozen liquids.
