Description
LabSen® 373 flat combined pH electrode is designed for reliable pH measurement on smooth surfaces such as skin, paper, leather, fabric and textiles. Manufactured with patented Swiss sensor technology and materials from APERA Instruments, it features a special flat glass membrane with a multi-porous PTFE junction structure that resists contamination and clogging on moist solid and semi-solid samples. A polyoxymethylene (POM) housing provides high corrosion resistance and impact protection. The long-life reference system consists of a glass tube, AgCl and a reference silver wire; cotton packing at the top of the slender glass tube prevents reaction between AgCl and electrolyte during temperature changes, improving reference stability and extending electrode life. Blue gel electrolyte does not flow and avoids air bubbles. An integrated NTC 30 kΩ temperature sensor supports automatic temperature compensation. The electrode uses a BNC connector compatible with pH meters that accept BNC inputs, and an RCA connector for the temperature sensor; it is the replacement electrode for the PH850-FT and PH8500-FT meters. Measuring range is 0 to 14 pH, recommended operating temperature 0 to 80 °C, shaft material POM, dimensions Ø12×105 mm, cable Ø5 mm × 1 m, storage solution 3M KCl. The electrode carries a 6-month manufacturer warranty.

Questions about LabSen 373 combined Flat pH Electrode for Surface Measurements
What is this article?
LabSen 373 combined Flat pH Electrode for Surface Measurements is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
