Description
LabSen 851-S pH electrode with pressurisation system is engineered for precise pH measurement of highly viscous samples such as paints, syrups, resins and adhesives. Built with patented Swiss sensor technology and materials, the electrode from manufacturer APERA Instruments features a LabSen S-type hemispherical glass membrane. This low-resistance, impact-resistant membrane provides fast response times so readings stabilise quickly and is up to ten times more robust against shocks or accidental contact than conventional membranes. The pressurised reference system maintains continuous electrolyte flow through the junction even in high-viscosity media, ensuring reliable results. A silver-ion-trap reference further protects against contamination and prolongs electrode life. The lead-free glass shaft measures Ø12 × 120 mm, incorporates a ceramic diaphragm and uses gel KCl electrolyte. A BNC connector with Ø3 mm × 1 m cable ensures compatibility with standard pH meters. Measuring range is 0–14 pH; no temperature sensor is built in, so automatic compensation requires a separate probe or manual temperature entry. Suitable for demanding laboratory work with viscous samples.

Questions about LabSen 851-S pH electrode with pre-pressure system, for highly viscous solutions
What is this article?
LabSen 851-S pH electrode with pre-pressure system, for highly viscous solutions is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
