Description

LabSen 371 flat pH electrode is designed for reliable pH measurement on smooth surfaces such as skin, paper, leather, fabric and textiles. Produced with patented Swiss sensor technology and materials from manufacturer APERA Instruments, it features a specialised flat glass membrane paired with a multi-pore PTFE junction structure that resists contamination and clogging when used on moist solid or semi-solid surfaces. A polyoxymethylene (POM) housing protects against corrosion and impact. The long-life reference system consists of a glass tube, AgCl and a reference silver wire; cotton packing at the top of the slender tube reduces reaction between AgCl and electrolyte during temperature changes, improving reference stability and extending electrode life. Blue gel electrolyte does not flow and avoids air bubbles. Shaft dimensions are Ø12 × 105 mm. The electrode uses a BNC connector compatible with meters including PH850, PC850, PH8500, PC8500, PH700, PH910, PC910 and related models. No temperature sensor is integrated; automatic temperature compensation requires a separate probe (for example MP500) or manual temperature entry. Measuring range covers 0–14 pH; recommended operating temperature is 0–80 °C; storage solution is 3M KCl. Diaphragm type is PTFE. Supplied as 1 piece with a six-month manufacturer warranty.

Questions about LabSen®371 Professional Combination Flat pH Electrode for Surface Test

What is this article?

LabSen®371 Professional Combination Flat pH Electrode for Surface Test is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
