Description

Large cuvette 704 is a precision spectroscopy cell in optical glass (type 700-OG) with a 30 mm path length and a working wavelength range from 360 nm to 2500 nm. Fitted with a glass lid, it provides a fill volume of 0,0225 l (22,500 µl) for measurements that need an extended optical path. Path-length accuracy and parallelism are tightly controlled so that results remain continuously reproducible. The cuvette is thermally bonded rather than glued, which increases resistance to temperature and chemicals and helps prevent unintended leakage. Selected optical glass yields transmission greater than 80 % for exact photometric readings. Chamfered edges support safe, comfortable handling and reduce the risk of chipping. Produced entirely in Germany by Hellma, these large cuvettes can be cleaned and reused over long service lives. Manufacture follows EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 14001 and meets high optical standards for laboratory spectroscopy.

Questions about large cells, 704

What is this article?

large cells, 704 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hellma (IDL) for laboratory use. It sits in Cuvettes, in Labware.

A cuvette is an optical cell. The spectrophotometer or photometer sends a beam through a defined path length, usually 10 mm, and the absorbance is read from that path. Glass is for the visible range. Quartz or a UV-grade plastic is required below about 320 nm, because ordinary glass absorbs there. The path length and the wavelength window are the two numbers that choose the cell. The optical methods that use it sit with NIST and the BIPM. Laboratory ware is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
