Description
Microtiter plate shaker TiMix 5 is an orbital laboratory shaker designed for high-speed, thorough mixing of small sample volumes in microtiter plates. The base unit is supplied without shaking plate or attachment and delivers an exactly circular motion with a 3 mm stroke. The 400 × 300 mm shaking surface accommodates up to eight microtiter plates, with a maximum load of 5 kg. Speed is continuously adjustable from 100 to 1400 min⁻¹, and a timer covers 0–120 min plus continuous operation. Electrical connection is 230 V or 115 V, 50/60 Hz (specify when ordering), protection class IP 21, and heat dissipation approximately 10–15 W. Exterior dimensions are 510 × 490 × 150 mm and net weight is 19 kg. Optional attachments from manufacturer Bühler expand capacity from eight up to 48 microtiter plates, supporting flexible multi-plate workflows in research and analytical laboratories that require reproducible orbital agitation of small liquid volumes.

Questions about Microplate Shaker TiMix 5
What is this article?
Microplate Shaker TiMix 5 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bühler for laboratory use. It sits in Sieve shakers, inside Test sieves & mills, in Lab instruments.
A sieve shaker repeats a throw so a particle-size test does not depend on who shook the stack. The amplitude, the timer and the frame diameter it accepts are the specification. A shaker for 200 mm frames does not hold a 300 mm stack.
A test sieve sorts particles by whether they pass an opening. Wire mesh and perforated plate are two ways of making that opening, and the nominal size is not a suggestion. A sieve shaker repeats the motion so the result does not depend on how hard someone shook by hand. A mill or grinder makes the particles smaller before they are sieved. The certificate of the sieve, and the opening size, are what an audit asks for. Measurement practice around mass and dimension sits with the BIPM, EURAMET and BELAC.
Which category should I open next?
The category is Test sieves & mills. The sub-category is Sieve shakers. The catalogue is Lab instruments.
Shelves beside this one are Test sieves (wire mesh), Test sieves (perforated plate), Mills, grinders & homogenisers and Sieve accessories (lids, pans, rings).
What should I check before I order?
When this page shows a safety data sheet, use that manufacturer file. Hazard text does not belong in the sales description. For a pack size, a grade or a certificate that is not on the page, send a quote request or contact the team.
