Description

Cover glasses for microscopy 50x75 mm, No. 1 are large-format precision cover slips manufactured from chemically resistant borosilicate glass D 263® M. With a generous 50 mm by 75 mm footprint and No. 1 thickness grade, they are well suited to oversized specimens, tissue sections and specialised mounting applications in light microscopy. Each pack contains 1,000 pieces, supplied as 100 pieces per cardboard box with 1,000 pieces in the outer carton for convenient laboratory handling and storage. These cover glasses are intended for use in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/746 on in-vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVDR) and are provided with the CE mark and batch numbering to support full information and traceability. Produced by Marienfeld from D 263® M borosilicate glass, they combine optical clarity with chemical resistance appropriate for staining protocols, permanent mounts and long-term archival preparations. The larger format integrates readily into histology, pathology and research workflows where standard smaller cover glasses are insufficient for specimen size or presentation requirements.

Questions about Microscope cover glasses 50x75 mm, No. 1

What is this article?

Microscope cover glasses 50x75 mm, No. 1 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Marienfeld for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope slides & cover glasses, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.

A slide is the glass a specimen sits on. A cover glass is the thin sheet over it, of a thickness the objective was designed for. A cover glass of the wrong thickness softens the image. Charged and plain slides hold sections differently.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
