Description

Microscope slides UniMark® blue with ground edges are precision glass slides measuring approximately 76 × 26 × 1 mm for routine and diagnostic light microscopy. Each slide carries a blue writing field for clear specimen identification, 90° ground edges and ground corners bevelled at 45° to support safe handling during preparation and coverslipping. The slides are intended for applications in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/746 for in-vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVDR) and bear the CE mark together with recommended expiry date and batch number for full information and traceability. They are packed in boxes of 50 pieces, with 2,500 pieces per outer carton, making them practical for high-throughput histology, cytology and clinical laboratories. The ground-edge finish helps reduce the risk of cuts while maintaining a flat, stable surface for staining and mounting. Produced by manufacturer Marienfeld, UniMark® blue slides provide a consistent platform for specimen examination and archiving under standard laboratory microscopy conditions.

Questions about Microscope slides UniMark® blue, ground edges

What is this article?

Microscope slides UniMark® blue, ground edges is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Marienfeld for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope slides & cover glasses, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.

A slide is the glass a specimen sits on. A cover glass is the thin sheet over it, of a thickness the objective was designed for. A cover glass of the wrong thickness softens the image. Charged and plain slides hold sections differently.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
