Description

Microscope slides UniMark® orange with ground edges are precision glass slides measuring approximately 76 × 26 × 1 mm for specimen preparation and microscopic examination. Each slide carries an orange writing field that provides a clear, durable area for sample identification and labelling. Edges are ground at 90° and the corners are ground with a 45° bevel, supporting safer handling and reducing the risk of chipping during routine use. These slides are intended for applications in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/746 on in-vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVDR). They bear the CE mark and are supplied with a recommended expiry date and batch number to enable comprehensive information and full traceability. Available from manufacturer Marienfeld, the slides are packed in boxes of 50 pieces, with 2,500 pieces per outer carton. Consistent dimensions and carefully finished edges make them suitable for histology, cytology, pathology and general laboratory microscopy where reliable specimen support and clear marking are required day after day.

This article is part of Microscope slides & cover glasses, in Microscopy & histology.

Questions about Microscope slides UniMark® orange, ground edges

What is this article?

Microscope slides UniMark® orange, ground edges is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Marienfeld for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope slides & cover glasses, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.

A slide is the glass a specimen sits on. A cover glass is the thin sheet over it, of a thickness the objective was designed for. A cover glass of the wrong thickness softens the image. Charged and plain slides hold sections differently.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
