Description

Minisart® HY PTFE syringe filter is a single-use, complete filtration unit engineered for fast and reliable venting and gas filtration. It combines a naturally hydrophobic, chemically inert PTFE membrane with a medical acrylic housing, making type S6596 with a pore size of 0,2 µm suitable for sterile filtration of air and gas as well as for filtration of gases and oils at pH 3–12. A male luer lock outlet supports secure coupling in laboratory setups. Version K is individually packed and sterilized by ethylene oxide (ETO), offering ready-to-use convenience for controlled workflows. Available as a pack of 50 pieces from manufacturer Sartorius, these filters address venting duties and gas-handling steps where hydrophobic membrane performance is essential. The format is intended for research use only and helps laboratories streamline routine air, gas, and compatible oil filtration without assembling separate membrane holders. With a net weight of 0,396 kg per pack, the units integrate easily into everyday sample preparation and process support tasks that demand consistent hydrophobic filtration behaviour.

This article is part of Syringe filters, in Filtration.

What is this article?

MinisartHY 0.2m, 26mm FM eo-ster, 50pc is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Syringe filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
