Description

The muffle furnace L5/13/C550 is a laboratory furnace designed for a maximum working temperature of 1300 °C. Heating elements on support tubes radiate freely into the chamber, delivering particularly short heating times and a long service life. Multi-layer insulation based on robust lightweight refractory bricks supports the higher temperature range and makes these units an interesting alternative to familiar L(T)./12 models when greater application temperatures are needed.

This article is part of Muffle & tube furnaces, in Heating, drying & cooling.

Energy is introduced from two sides. The dual-shell ventilated housing in textured stainless steel reduces outer surface temperature and increases stability. A flap door can be used as a work platform; an adjustable air inlet in the door and a rear-wall exhaust outlet assist atmosphere control. This variant combines a protective gas connection with thermocouple provision. The C550 touch controller, solid-state relays for low-noise operation, and NTLog Basic for USB-based process data recording form the control package. Supplied as a single piece from manufacturer Nabertherm for defined laboratory applications within the constraints of the operating instructions.

What is this article?

Muffle Furnace L5/13/C550 Tmax1300 with flap door protective gas connection and is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Nabertherm for laboratory use. It sits in Muffle & tube furnaces, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.

A muffle furnace surrounds a sample with heat for ashing or ignition, often to 1100 °C. A tube furnace heats a sample in a controlled atmosphere inside a tube. The maximum temperature and the chamber size are the specification. A drying oven is not a furnace.

Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
