Description

Multiparameter Photometer with COD Measuring Range for Wastewater Analysis, 230V is a compact benchtop instrument for essential water and wastewater quality testing. Ten key parameters are covered by twenty methods spanning multiple concentration ranges, including chemical oxygen demand (COD), total nitrogen and total phosphorus—parameters used to assess treatment efficiency in municipal and industrial wastewater. An advanced optical system with LEDs, narrow-band interference filters, a focusing lens, silicon photodiode and reference detector stabilises the light path and reduces cuvette-related errors for accurate, reproducible results. Absorbance mode enables performance checks with photometric CAL Check™ standards and user-defined concentration-versus-absorbance curves at 420 nm, 466 nm, 525 nm, 575 nm or 610 nm. A digital pH electrode input accepts Hanna digital electrodes with 3,5 mm connector (not included); microchip calibration memory and a tip thermistor support electrode exchange without recalibration and automatic temperature compensation. Dual USB ports serve data transfer and 5 V power; the internal 3,7 V lithium-polymer battery allows roughly 500 photometric measurements or 50 hours of pH use. This split-beam diode photometer from manufacturer Hanna Instruments is supplied as a single 230 V unit for wastewater laboratories.

Questions about Multiparameter photometer with COD for Waste water treatment analysis, 230V

What is this article?

Multiparameter photometer with COD for Waste water treatment analysis, 230V is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Photometers & spectrophotometers, inside Spectroscopy & photometry, in Lab instruments.

A photometer reads absorbance at one or a few wavelengths. A spectrophotometer scans or selects many. Both send light through a cuvette or a well. The wavelength range, UV or visible, and the bandwidth decide what can be measured. A visible-only instrument cannot read a nucleic acid at 260 nm.

A photometer or spectrophotometer sends light through a sample and reads how much was absorbed. In the range where the Beer–Lambert relation holds, absorbance tracks concentration. A refractometer reads how a liquid bends light, which tracks dissolved solids. A polarimeter reads the rotation of polarised light, the classical measurement for sugars. The lamp, the wavelength and the cuvette path length are the three things that have to be right before the number means anything. The optical quantities trace to NIST and the BIPM.
