Description

Nalgene™ Economy HDPE narrow-mouth bottles are lightweight containers for secure storage of samples and routine working solutions such as buffers and reagents. These 500 ml (16 oz) bottles represent the economy line of original Nalgene laboratory-grade bottles and are moulded from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in a natural translucent finish. The square economy narrow-mouth format offers a 21 mm inner neck diameter, roughly 73 mm diameter and 170 mm height, and is fitted with a natural polypropylene screw closure (28 mm, linerless). Intended for light-duty, general laboratory use, the bottles are not autoclavable. Manufactured to ISO 13485:2016 quality requirements by Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, bottles and closures meet USP Class VI and 21 CFR 177.1520 criteria for food and beverage contact. An ACT label provides environmental transparency. Delivered as a case of 48 units, they suit reagent preparation, sample holding and everyday wet-lab organisation where a translucent HDPE narrow-mouth bottle is preferred.

Questions about Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth HDPE Economy Bottles

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth HDPE Economy Bottles is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
