Description

Nalgene™ PPCO narrow-mouth bottles with closure are autoclavable laboratory containers intended for workflows that require excellent chemical resistance together with autoclaving of the bottle empty or filled. Each natural translucent Boston round bottle is moulded from polypropylene copolymer (PPCO) and provides a nominal capacity of 8 ml (0,25 oz), a narrow mouth opening and a 14 mm metric inner neck diameter. A matching 20 mm polypropylene screw closure without liner is included; the natural neck finish supports freezer-compatible handling. Bottles and closures meet 21CFR177.1520 requirements for food and beverage use as well as USP Class VI and are manufactured in compliance with ISO 13485:2016 quality requirements. With a height of about 2,3 in and a width of about 0,98 in, the compact format suits sample aliquots, reagents and general laboratory storage. These bottles from manufacturer Thermo Scientific (Nalgene™) are supplied non-graduated and not as single-use items, packed 12 per pack and 72 per case for convenient laboratory stocking of autoclavable PPCO narrow-mouth containers.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth PPCO Bottles with Closure: Autoclavable is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
