Description

Nalgene™ Griffin low-form PMP beakers are transparent plastic measuring vessels with a nominal capacity of 50 ml for routine laboratory work. Fabricated from polymethylpentene (PMP), these low-form Griffin beakers carry clear graduations from 10 ml to 50 ml in 5 ml increments and remain suitable for continuous service at 150 °C as well as short-term exposure up to 175 °C. The beakers are autoclavable, reusable and meet the accuracy requirements of ISO/DIN 7056 for plastic laboratory ware. Supplied as a case of 36 pieces (12 per pack) from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, they combine good chemical resistance with excellent content visibility. The stable low-form geometry supports secure bench placement while the graduated scale permits convenient volume estimation during sample preparation, solution mixing or general liquid handling. With a case gross weight of 0,560 kg these durable PMP beakers serve research, quality-control and teaching laboratories that require reliable, repeatedly usable measuring vessels.

Questions about Nalgene™ PMP Griffin Low-Form Plastic Beakers

What is this article?

Nalgene™ PMP Griffin Low-Form Plastic Beakers is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Beakers, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A beaker is an open, straight-sided working vessel with a spout. It is for dissolving, heating and pouring. The graduations are a guide, not a volumetric calibration. Low form and tall form differ in stability and in how easily a liquid splashes.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
