Description

Nalgene™ Splash Guard Shield is a laboratory safety splash shield that protects the user while maintaining a clear line of sight. The unit combines a polycarbonate lens with an acetal flexible arm and is specified at approximately 21,6 × 27,9 cm, corresponding to about 12 in. length and 8,5 in. width. Lens thickness is 3 mm (0,12 in.), with a clear lens colour and stated UV protection. Designed as a safety splash shield for bench or workstation use, it supports one-handed positioning via the flexible arm so the barrier can be placed where splash risk is highest. The product meets OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1030 according to the manufacturer data and is offered as a case of four from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics. Suitable for clinical, research and industrial laboratories handling liquids or biological materials, it provides a stable, optically clear polycarbonate barrier that complements gloves, coats and eye protection in everyday PPE workflows.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Polycarbonate Safety Splash Shield is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
