Description

Nalgene™ PPCO centrifuge bottles are round, translucent vessels for laboratory centrifugation at forces up to 13700 × g. Produced from polypropylene copolymer (PPCO), they offer a nominal capacity of 500 ml (16,9 oz) and a three-sided flange intended for biopharmaceutical aseptic liquid transfers or sampling. Each bottle is closed with a polypropylene sealing closure; dispensing through the cap is not provided, and the bottles are not graduated. They are autoclavable so they can be sterilised between uses. Delivered as a case of 24 (4 per pack) from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, these mid-volume bottles suit research and process applications that need robust, chemical-resistant containers under high relative centrifugal force. The translucent PPCO wall supports visual monitoring of fill level and separation progress, while the round profile fits standard centrifuge bottle rotors. With construction suited to repeated autoclave cycles, Nalgene™ PPCO bottles give reliable containment for sample preparation, clarification and intermediate processing in biopharma and general laboratory settings.

Questions about Nalgene™ PPCO Centrifuge Bottles

What is this article?

Nalgene™ PPCO Centrifuge Bottles is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Screw caps & closures, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

A screw cap has a thread and a liner. The thread has to match the bottle. The liner has to survive the liquid: a pulp liner fails in a solvent that a PTFE-faced liner ignores. The colour of the cap is not the specification.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
