Description

Nalgene™ Clearboy™ rectangular polycarbonate carboy with spigot, 20 l, is a space-saving, transparent vessel designed for storing and dispensing media, solutions and sterile water when visual inspection of contents is essential. Clear polycarbonate construction lets users monitor fill level, clarity and colour without opening the container. The rectangular footprint reduces shelf and benchtop space compared with round carboys, while the 86 mm neck inner diameter and 100 mm polypropylene closure support convenient filling and secure sealing. Overall height with closure is 399 mm. A moulded-in spigot boss with tubing adapter enables controlled dispensing and easy connection to laboratory tubing. Autoclavable design supports repeated sterilisation cycles in media preparation and buffer workflows. Supplied as one unit in a case of four from manufacturer Thermo Scientific – Laboratory Plastics, this Clearboy™ carboy suits laboratories that need chemical-resistant, see-through bulk liquid storage with reliable spigot delivery in a compact rectangular format.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Rectangular Polycarbonate Clearboy™ Carboy with is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Canisters & jerrycans, inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A canister or jerrycan holds litres, not millilitres, and it is shaped to be carried and to pour. The material has to survive the liquid for the whole time the can sits in the store.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
