Description

Nalgene™ LDPE Wide-Mouth Bottles with Closure are impact-resistant laboratory bottles that allow clear observation of the liquid level through the natural translucent wall. Each round bottle holds a nominal volume of 60 ml (2 oz) and is moulded from low-density polyethylene (LDPE). The wide-mouth design provides an inner neck diameter of 21 mm, while the included screw closure is polypropylene (PP) in size 28 mm and is supplied without a liner. Bottles and closures meet the requirements of US regulation 21 CFR 177.1520 for food and beverage contact as well as USP Class VI, and are manufactured according to the quality requirements of ISO 13485:2016. These bottles from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics are not graduated and are not intended for dispensing through the closure. Approximate dimensions are 1,53 in width and 3,39 in height. Flexible LDPE, a secure PP screw cap and a wide opening support sample storage, reagent handling and general laboratory logistics where break resistance and content visibility matter. Natural translucent colouring enables quick level checks without opening the vessel during routine laboratory work.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Wide-Mouth LDPE Bottles with Closure is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
