Description

Narrow-mouth bottle, PP, round, natural, without closure, GL 18, 100 ml is a polypropylene laboratory bottle for general chemical storage and sample handling. Made from polypropylene (PP) in a natural colour, the round narrow-mouth design with GL 18 thread supports controlled pouring and secure sealing once a suitable screw closure is fitted; the bottle is delivered without a closure. It is autoclavable up to a maximum of 121 °C; before autoclaving, any closure should be unscrewed and placed on the bottle as indicated by the manufacturer. Nominal volume is 100 ml (0,1 l), outer diameter 45 mm, height 102 mm and inner opening diameter 13 mm, providing a practical size for bench work, media aliquots and reagent organisation. Polypropylene construction offers the thermal and chemical resistance expected of PP labware for repeated laboratory use. This Enghals bottle from manufacturer lab-o-plastix fits standard threaded-bottle applications in research, quality-control and teaching environments where autoclave-compatible narrow-mouth containers are preferred. Clear natural PP aids visual level checks while the GL 18 neck remains compatible with common laboratory screw closures.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
