Description

neoLabLine Labothermol® O is a mineral oil-based heat transfer fluid supplied in a 5 l canister for use as heating bath liquid in closed heat transfer systems with forced circulation. It is excellently suited to the indirect heating of reactors, polymerisation and distillation plants, processing machines and dryers, as well as heat exchangers in process plants and heat-recovery systems. The fluid from manufacturer neolab - Labor offers high oxidation resistance for dependable long-term performance. The operating temperature range extends from −10 °C to +280 °C, with a boiling point of 400 °C at 1013 mbar and a flash point of 220 °C according to DIN ISO 2592. Permissible flow temperature reaches 320 °C. Density at 20 °C is 870 kg/m³, while kinematic viscosity at 40 °C measures 43,5 mm²/s. The product remains pumpable down to +5 °C, supporting flexible system start-up. This heat carrier meets the demands of laboratory and industrial process heating where stable thermal transfer and oxidation stability are essential.

This article is part of pH buffers & conductivity standards, in Buffers & pH solutions.

Questions about neoLabLine Labothermol® O, Kanister 5 l

What is this article?

neoLabLine Labothermol® O, Kanister 5 l is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes neolab for laboratory use. It sits in pH buffers & conductivity standards, inside Buffers & pH solutions, in Lab chemicals.

A pH buffer for calibration has a stated pH at a stated temperature, often traceable. A conductivity standard has a stated conductivity. They are not general reagents and they should not be poured back into the bottle. The temperature of the measurement has to be the temperature on the label, or the meter has to compensate.

A buffer resists a change in pH when a little acid or base is added. It does that because a weak acid and its conjugate base are both present. A pH buffer used to calibrate a meter has a stated value at a stated temperature. A biological buffer such as Tris or HEPES is chosen because it holds the pH of a living system and does not poison it. Conductivity standards are the sister articles for a conductivity meter. The ions are on PubChem. Electrode calibration practice sits with EURAMET and BELAC.
