Description

pH electrode for chemicals, general applications and quality control is a robust PEI-bodied sensor with a single ceramic junction, intended for chemical media, outdoor use and routine QC measurements. The reference system is double junction Ag/AgCl with a single ceramic diaphragm and KCl 3,5 M electrolyte. Maximum operating pressure is 0,1 bar. Measuring ranges cover pH 0 to 13 and sample temperatures from 0 to 80 °C. The sensing tip is spherical with a 7,5 mm geometry; the electrode has neither an integrated temperature sensor nor a built-in amplifier. Connection is via an S7 screw head, allowing flexible cable choice on compatible meters. This PEI chemical electrode from manufacturer Hanna Instruments is supplied as one piece for general laboratory and field pH work where a durable polymer body and simple junction design are preferred. Net weight is 0,09 kg and gross weight 1,09 kg per packed unit; country of origin is Romania. The S7 screw-head format supports straightforward integration into existing electrode cables and portable or benchtop pH instruments used for chemical and QC testing.

What is this article?

pH electrode for chemicals, field applications, quality control, S7 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
