Description
Portable EC/TDS/°C meter HI99301 is a waterproof handheld instrument for high-range conductivity, total dissolved solids and temperature. Conductivity is measured from 0,00 to 20,00 mS/cm and TDS from 0,00 to 10,00 ppt (g/L), with automatic temperature compensation via the built-in sensor of the included HI763063 EC/TDS/temperature probe (Quick-DIN, 1 m cable).
This article is part of Conductivity meters & cells, in pH & electrochemistry. See also pH meters.
Like other meters in the HI99xxxx series, it combines a modern, easy-to-handle layout with fully sealed operation. Application-specific Quick-DIN probes render the system water- and dust-tight; the rubber-protected connector simplifies attachment and removal while keeping the link secure. Two keys control settings, range and calibration points. Conductivity calibration is automatic, one-point (12,88 mS/cm or corresponding ppt standards), and the TDS conversion factor is selectable in 0,01 steps from 0,45 to 1,00. A multilevel LCD displays the essential readings clearly, and the IP67 outer housing protects the electronics in rough environments. Supplied from manufacturer Hanna Instruments with the HI763063 probe, starter calibration solutions, batteries, operating manual and quality certificate in a sturdy carrying case. Temperature range is 0,0 to 60,0 °C; dimensions are 154 × 63 × 30 mm.

Questions about Portable EC/TDS/Temperature meter, HR, incl. HI763063, 1 m cable, DIN
What is this article?
Portable EC/TDS/Temperature meter, HR, incl. HI763063, 1 m cable, DIN is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Conductivity meters & cells, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A conductivity meter and its cell measure how well a solution carries current. The cell constant is the geometry that converts conductance to conductivity, and it is calibrated with a standard. Temperature compensation matters because conductivity rises with temperature.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
