Description

Portable multiparameter turbidity meter, EPA, 230 V is a USEPA-compliant mobile instrument for high-precision turbidity and free/total chlorine measurement, developed especially for low-range applications such as drinking water. The optical system combines a tungsten lamp, three detectors (scattered light, transmitted light and colorimetric) and a narrow-band interference filter at 525 nm to ensure stability, minimise stray light and colour interference, compensate lamp fluctuations and reduce calibration needs. Turbidity ranges are 0,00 to 9,99; 10,0 to 99,9 and 100 to 1000 NTU with resolutions of 0,01; 0,1 and 1 NTU; free and total chlorine each cover 0,00 to 5,00 mg/l (resolution 0,01 mg/l to 3,50 mg/l; 0,10 above). Turbidity accuracy is ±2% of reading plus 0,02 NTU; chlorine accuracy is ±0,02 mg/l at 1,00 mg/l. Nephelometric ratio measurement follows USEPA Method 180.1 and Standard Method 2130 B; chlorine uses USEPA 330.5 and Standard Method 4500-Cl G. Exclusive CAL CHECK™ supports chlorine verification and calibration. Tag identification, GLP features, 200-reading memory and RS232/USB PC interface are included. Supplied in a carrying case with five capped cuvettes, turbidity and chlorine standard kits, silicone oil, cleaning cloth, five i-Buttons with holder, batteries and AC adapter, this meter from manufacturer Hanna Instruments measures 224 x 87 x 775 mm and weighs 512 g.

Questions about potable turbidity meter, EPA, 230V

What is this article?

potable turbidity meter, EPA, 230V is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Dissolved oxygen & multiparameter meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A dissolved-oxygen meter reads oxygen in a liquid, optically or with a Clark cell. A multiparameter meter adds pH, conductivity or both on one instrument. The sensor cap or the membrane is the consumable. A reading in air and a reading in water are different calibrations.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
