Description

ISE electrode for potassium, half-cell is a polymer-membrane ion-selective half-cell electrode intended for the determination of potassium ions in wine, water, soil and biological samples. The sensor body is built from epoxy resin and PVC and covers a measuring range from 1 M to 1 × 10⁻⁶ M, equivalent to about 39100 to 0,039 mg/L potassium. Optimal response is obtained in the pH window 1,5 to 12, with an operating temperature span of 0 to 40 °C and an approximate Nernstian slope of +56 mV per decade. Immersion dimensions are Ø 12 mm × 120 mm; a 1 m coaxial cable with BNC connector provides the electrical link to the meter. For complete potentiometric measurement the half-cell must be paired with reference electrode HI5315. Offered as a single piece from manufacturer Hanna Instruments, this potassium ISE supports routine laboratory quantification in environmental, agricultural, food and life-science matrices where reliable K⁺ readings are required.

Questions about Potassium Half-Cell Ion Selective Electrode, Polymer Membrane

What is this article?

Potassium Half-Cell Ion Selective Electrode, Polymer Membrane is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
