Description
Precision balance EXP6201 is a modular Explorer Plus™ Precision EXP instrument designed for accurate laboratory weighing up to a maximum load of 6,2 kg at a readability of 0,0001 kg. A robust digital high-speed full-block load cell housed in metal delivers reliable performance for routine and advanced applications. Motorised levelling and a detachable high-resolution 7-inch glass touchscreen with 16,7 million colours simplify daily operation. The antistatic glass draft shield can be removed and features a flip-up lid, while LED sample illumination and status lights permit individually selectable colours. Integrated sensors track temperature, air pressure and humidity. Two multifunctional sensors support contactless operation for rapid, safe and clean handling. Seventeen weighing applications and functions, including SQC and libraries, are included, along with full GxP support covering user, data and ID management, system-log protocols and minimum-weight determination. Fully automatic internal adjustment AutoCal™, an integrated ioniser to remove electrostatic effects, and multiple interfaces (USB-A host/device, USB-C, Ethernet, RS232 plus optional WLAN/Bluetooth) facilitate seamless connection to LIMS systems via driverless HID transfer. External dimensions are 229 mm width, 97 mm height and 408 mm depth; net weight is 5,5 kg. Available as 1 pc from manufacturer Ohaus.

Questions about Precision Balance EXP6201
What is this article?
Precision Balance EXP6201 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Ohaus for laboratory use. It sits in Precision balances, inside Balances & scales, in Lab instruments.
A precision balance reads more coarsely than an analytical balance, often 1 mg or 10 mg, and it takes a heavier pan load. It is the balance for preparing bulk reagents. Draft, level and a warm-up still move the last digit.
A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.
