Description

Waterproof handheld meter for pH/ORP and temperature with pH electrode HI12963 is a professional portable instrument that brings laboratory-grade pH and ORP performance to field and production environments. It measures pH from −2 to +20 with resolution to three decimal places and redox potential over ±2000 mV when fitted with a suitable probe. Up to five-point calibration with seven standard and five user buffers enables accuracy to ±0,002 pH, and an optional out-of-range warning flags measurements outside calibrated points. CAL Check™ from manufacturer Hanna Instruments stores calibration history, warns of buffer contamination or electrode fouling and reports electrode condition as a percentage after each calibration. The meter housing is IP67 (up to 1 m for 30 minutes) and the probe IP68 for continuous immersion. HI12963 uses a Quick Connect DIN waterproof coupling. GLP recall, logging of up to 200 values, backlit graphic LCD with help keys, micro-USB connectivity and battery life up to 200 hours complete professional on-site use.

Questions about Professional Waterproof Portable pH/ORP Meter

What is this article?

Professional Waterproof Portable pH/ORP Meter is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
