Description
Sealable cuvette type 117F-QS is a high-performance quartz glass cell intended for spectrophotometry over the wavelength range 200 nm to 2500 nm. This variant provides a path length of 10 × 4 mm and a filling volume of 1400 µl, fitted with a closed screw cap and PTFE seal for secure sample containment. Precision cuvettes from manufacturer Hellma are produced entirely in Germany and are thermally bonded, not glued, which confers excellent chemical and thermal resistance and prevents leakage. High-performance quartz glass ensures transmission greater than 82 %, enabling precise and reproducible measurements on standard spectrophotometers. Bevelled edges facilitate safe, comfortable handling and reduce the likelihood of edge damage. The cells are readily cleaned and reused, supporting sustainable laboratory practice. Manufacturing complies with EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 14001 and satisfies demanding optical standards. Supplied as one piece, the cuvette is well suited to applications that require a reduced path length and smaller sample volume while retaining optical precision.

Questions about sealable cells, 117F
What is this article?
sealable cells, 117F is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hellma (IDL) for laboratory use. It sits in Cuvettes, in Labware.
A cuvette is an optical cell. The spectrophotometer or photometer sends a beam through a defined path length, usually 10 mm, and the absorbance is read from that path. Glass is for the visible range. Quartz or a UV-grade plastic is required below about 320 nm, because ordinary glass absorbs there. The path length and the wavelength window are the two numbers that choose the cell. The optical methods that use it sit with NIST and the BIPM. Laboratory ware is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
