Description

SICCO Glove Box with airlock antistatic is a conductive laboratory workstation for electrostatic-sensitive handling. An aluminium frame carries dissipative polycarbonate panes and a dissipative polyethylene base. The front provides two glove ports with a pair of size 9,75 conductive EPDM gloves, and two cable feedthroughs are located on the rear (upper right and left). The airlock has two doors; the outer door is fitted with a latch against accidental opening, and a tray extends into the workspace on opening for straightforward product transfer. Both the working chamber and the airlock include two hose connections each for gassing and ventilation, complete with matching hoses (2 × 5 m PVC gassing hose and 2 × 5 m PE ventilation hose). All materials used can dissipate electrostatic charge via a rear-connectable earthing cable (M6 thread). Overall external dimensions are 1210 × 780 × 600 mm from manufacturer Bohlender, with usable box interior 850 × 650 × 540 mm, box volume 290 L, airlock volume 24 L, hinged-lid opening 850 × 425 mm, total weight 20 kg, maximum load 40 kg on the box and 3 kg on the airlock. Suited to controlled, charge-dissipative sample handling and transfer.

Questions about SICCO Glove Box Antistatic with Transfer Chamber, B 1210 mm x H 700 mm x T 600 m

What is this article?

SICCO Glove Box Antistatic with Transfer Chamber, B 1210 mm x H 700 mm x T 600 m is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Latex & vinyl disposable gloves, inside Gloves, in Lab safety equipment.

Latex disposable gloves fit closely and recover their shape. Vinyl is looser and is chosen when latex allergy is the concern. Both are for splash and incidental contact, not for prolonged contact with a chemical. Powder and powder-free, and the AQL, are the other choices.

A glove is a barrier on the hand, and the barrier is only as good as the hazard it was tested against. Nitrile, latex and vinyl disposable gloves are for splash and for incidental contact. A chemical-resistant glove is a different article, tested for permeation by named chemicals. A cut-resistant glove is for blades and edges. Cold and heat need yet another material. No one glove does all of these. Glove standards are listed under ISO hand protection. The legal text is the PPE Regulation. Chemical classes are on ECHA CLP. Practice is at EU-OSHA.
