Description

Steritop™ bottle top filters are sterile bottle-top filtration units fitted with a polyethersulfone (PES) membrane at 0,22 µm pore size for a 500 ml process volume. They are designed for vacuum-driven filtration of aqueous media, buffers and comparable laboratory liquids when a larger single-batch volume is required prior to storage or further processing. The PES membrane supports efficient aqueous flow and is frequently used where low non-specific binding is advantageous during media and buffer preparation. Each filter is supplied sterile, enabling direct connection to a suitable receiving bottle while helping preserve aseptic conditions at the filtration step. The 500 ml format is well suited to higher-volume media prep, shared core facilities and workflows that benefit from fewer filter changes per batch. Delivered in packs of 12 pc(s), the filters from manufacturer MERCK MILLIPORE match established bottle-top vacuum filtration practices in research, development and quality laboratories. Consistent sterile PES specification at 0,22 µm helps keep filtration parameters aligned across parallel preparations without separate membrane mounting hardware.

What is this article?

SteritopTM bottle top filters, PES-membrane, sterile, 0.22 µm, 500 ml is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes MERCK MILLIPORE for laboratory use. It sits in Bottle-top & vacuum filtration units, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A bottle-top filter or a vacuum filtration unit sits on a bottle and pulls a liquid through a membrane under vacuum. Pore size and membrane are the same choice as a syringe filter, at a larger area. A sterile unit is a stated claim. The bottle neck has to match.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
