Description

StopCock PA conductive is a specialised drain cock for solvent service where standard polyethylene or polypropylene taps are unsuitable. Constructed from electrically conductive polyamide, with media-contacting parts in conductive PA and PTFE, this stopcock from Bürkle fits 3/4'' external threads and, via the supplied electrically conductive PA adapter, also 3/4'' internal threads—matching nearly all commercial canisters and drums with a bottom drain thread. The assembly includes an outlet elbow with rotatable drip preventer and a reducing outlet spout for narrow bottle openings of 6–8 mm outer diameter. A connection union nut keeps the cock in a guaranteed vertical position. The valve closes absolutely tightly and operates particularly smoothly. Pressure resistance reaches 2 bar at 20 °C when used without the outlet elbow and spout. Supplied as one piece with a net weight of 0,107 kg, it provides reliable, solvent-compatible discharge control for laboratory and industrial containers.

This article is part of Stopcocks & valves, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about StopCock PA, electroconductive, cap nut 3/4'' inner

What is this article?

StopCock PA, electroconductive, cap nut 3/4'' inner is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bürkle for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
