Description
T 18 brushless digital ULTRA-TURRAX® S002 is a high-performance disperser with UK plug for efficient emulsifying, homogenising, dispersing and suspending, including particle-size reduction into the micrometre range. It offers a wide speed range from 3000 to 25000 rpm and a working volume up to 1500 ml (water), enabling high circumferential speeds even with small rotor diameters. The brushless motor supports longer service life, quieter operation and hygienic applications, while digital speed display and setting plus a timer function allow unsupervised runs. A quick coupling simplifies tool changes for cleaning and maintenance, and a USB interface enables remote control and documentation with labworldsoft® laboratory software. A broad choice of dispersing elements is available in chemically resistant stainless steel or disposable plastic; dispersing tools of the T 18 digital series remain compatible. The dispersing tool is not included. This unit from IKA ships as one piece with a net weight of 4,250 kg for demanding laboratory dispersion work.
This article is part of Homogenisers & dispersers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about T 18 brushless digital ULTRA-TURRAX® S002 , Disperser with UK plug
What is this article?
T 18 brushless digital ULTRA-TURRAX® S002 , Disperser with UK plug is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Homogenisers & dispersers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A homogeniser or disperser uses a rotor inside a stator to tear a sample and disperse it. Tip diameter and speed decide the particle size. A generator for 2 mL and a generator for 1 L are different tools on, sometimes, the same drive.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
