Description

TC-20-M is a lid with pierceable membrane for tubes with a working volume of 20 ml. The membrane can be pierced so that media can be added or samples withdrawn during ongoing sample processing without fully opening the tube. This supports continuous workflows in which intermediate access to the contents is required while the vessel remains largely closed. Each pack contains 25 pieces, making the lids suitable for routine multi-sample handling on the laboratory bench. The TC-20-M accessory from manufacturer IKA is intended for matching 20 ml tubes used in sample preparation, media exchange and in-process sampling. Its pierceable design reduces the need to remove and reseat conventional lids, helping to limit handling steps and potential contamination of the working area. The lids are supplied non-sterile and are therefore appropriate for general laboratory applications where sterility is not specified. Compact packaging and a net pack weight of 0,089 kg keep the consumable easy to store and dispense. These lids provide a practical consumable option for laboratories that require reliable intermediate access to 20 ml tube contents during processing.

Questions about TC-20-M, Cover, pierceable membrane

What is this article?

TC-20-M, Cover, pierceable membrane is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Lids & seals, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

Lids and seals are the covers of dishes, jars and tanks: a snap lid, a sealing film, a gasket. The seal is doing the work. A lid that only rests on the rim does not contain a volatile liquid.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
