Description

The testo 176 H1 is a data logger for temperature and humidity intended to verify whether specified humidity and temperature values are maintained in storage and buildings, and to help clarify mould causes linked to ventilation or structural issues. Up to two temperature or combined temperature/humidity probes can be connected to the four-channel logger and positioned to suit the room; a wide range of optional probes is available. A supplied lock protects the instrument against unauthorised access. Besides current temperature and humidity, the display also shows dew point when a temperature/humidity probe is connected, together with programmed limits, min/max values, limit violations and remaining battery life, so a PC is not required for a rapid check. Memory for up to 2 million readings and battery life of up to 8 years reduce how often data must be read out, even at short cycles. The standard AA battery is user-replaceable. Applications include monitoring building climate and storage conditions, and investigating moisture and mould on ceilings and walls. Programming and analysis are supported by ComSoft Basic, Professional or CFR 21 Part 11 software from manufacturer Testo; a USB cable (not included) is required for programming, with data transfer also possible via optional SD card.

This article is part of Data loggers, in Temperature measurement.

Questions about testo 176 H1 - Data logger, for, temperature and humidity

What is this article?

testo 176 H1 - Data logger, for, temperature and humidity is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Testo for laboratory use. It sits in Data loggers, inside Temperature measurement, in Lab instruments.

A data logger stores a temperature, a humidity or another signal over time, so a shipment or a room has a record rather than a spot reading. The interval, the memory and the sensor range are the specification. A logger that is full has stopped being a record.

A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
