Description

The testo 206-pH2 is a pH measuring instrument designed for semi-solid media and widely used in the cosmetics, food and metal industries. Typical applications include viscous and protein-containing foods such as jelly, cheese and fruit, liquid and pasty materials such as creams and oils, and water-mixed cooling lubricants. Besides the pH immersion tip, the instrument incorporates an integrated temperature sensor, enabling fast, precise pH measurement together with core temperature determination. A large gel-electrolyte volume and ring-gap diaphragm make the probe leak-proof, maintenance-free, robust and resistant to contamination. One-, two- or three-point calibration is supported, and automatic end-value recognition assists the measurement process. Supplied with the dishwasher-safe TopSafe protective cover from manufacturer Testo, the unit reaches protection class IP68, remaining hygienic and shielded against dirt, water and impact. This combination of robust probe design and protective housing suits demanding laboratory and production environments where reliable pH control of semi-solid samples is required.

Questions about testo 206-pH2 - pH meter

What is this article?

testo 206-pH2 - pH meter is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Testo for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
