Description

Weight 2 kg, OIML E1 is a high-precision individual calibration weight intended for demanding laboratory and metrology work. OIML Class E1 delivers high accuracy with tight tolerances and a guaranteed uncertainty of one-third of the tolerance. Surfaces meet or exceed OIML R 111 and are finished to a mirror-smooth high-gloss polish. Manufactured from Troemner Alloy 8 stainless steel, the weight provides a strictly controlled density of 8,03 g/cm³, extremely low magnetic properties, excellent stability and strong corrosion resistance. This 2 kg model belongs to the series covering 1 g to 20 kg and is supplied in a high-quality protective case that keeps the weight secure, clean and dust-free, thereby protecting the investment. Offered by manufacturer Ohaus, the single calibration weight meets or exceeds the tolerances of OIML classes E1, E2, F1 and F2. With a net weight of 2 kg and a height of 86,74 mm it is well suited for calibrating analytical balances and other precision instruments where reliable OIML E1 performance and measurement traceability are required in quality-control and research environments.

Questions about Weight 1P OIML 2kg CLE1 NoCert TR

What is this article?

Weight 1P OIML 2kg CLE1 NoCert TR is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Ohaus for laboratory use. It sits in Calibration & test weights, inside Balances & scales, in Lab instruments.

A test weight is a mass of a stated class, used to check a balance. The class sets the tolerance. A weight that is dirty, or that has been handled with bare fingers, is no longer that class. The certificate ties the weight to a standard.

A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.
