La gamme de disques d'antibiotiques ROTI®est conçue pour l'analyse qualitative de la sensibilité des bactéries ou des champignons aux réactifs antimicrobiologiques par des méthodes de diffusion in vitro.
Une culture de départ fraîche est ajustée à une densité cellulaire de 1×106-5×106 ufc/ml (conformément à l'étalon McFarland 0,5) et appliquée uniformément sur une boîte de culture contenant de l'agar Mueller-Hinton (Art. n° X926 ; pour les cultures fongiques, ajouter 2 % de glucose + 0,5 μm de bleu de méthylène). Les disques d'antibiotiques sont appliqués individuellement sur la boîte à l'aide d'une pince stérile ou d'un distributeur (Art. n° 1505).
Après une période d'incubation appropriée, la taille de la zone d'inhibition autour des disques est mesurée. Le diamètre de la zone d'inhibition est évalué à l'aide de valeurs standardisées dans les normes et bases de données disponibles et est un indicateur de la sensibilité de la culture à l'antibiotique.
Chaque disque ROTI®Antibiotic Discs Érythromycine (E) contient de l'érythromycine à une concentration de 10 μg et porte l'inscription « E 15 » des deux côtés. Le diamètre des disques ROTI®Antibiotic Discs est de 6 mm.
