RCT basic ETS-D5 Solution is a complete magnetic stirrer with heating system that combines the RCT basic hotplate stirrer and the ETS-D5 electronic contact thermometer for safer reaction control. Linking both instruments allows the contact thermometer to address the stirrer’s independent internal safety circuit directly. A maximum permissible medium temperature can be set independently of the setpoint; if this limit is exceeded, heating shuts off via the safety circuit while stirring continues to prevent bumping. The ETS-D5 safety limit and the hotplate safety temperature act as an OR combination, so either fault condition disables heating. Hotplate temperature can also be set separately from the medium to influence heat-up times. Display resolution and setting accuracy improve to 0,1 K for medium temperature on the contact thermometer, while the RCT shows current hotplate temperature. The contact thermometer display can be positioned at eye level. The complete solution from manufacturer IKA includes the stirrer, contact thermometer and all required mounting elements as a single unit with a net weight of 4,160 kg.
