RCT basic is a magnetic stirrer with heating designed for reliable everyday laboratory work. Suitable for stirring volumes up to 20 l (H2O), it reaches a hotplate temperature of up to 310 °C and allows direct temperature measurement and control in the medium via the included external PT 1000.60 sensor. Perfect insulation of the aluminium hotplate, a maintenance-free EC motor and an electronic switched-mode power supply deliver high energy efficiency and reduced self-heating during stirring. The latest generation from manufacturer IKA features a hardened, break-resistant glass surface for chemical resistance and easy cleaning, the largest LED display in its class, illuminated status symbols, plus USB and RS232 interfaces for PC control and documentation with labworldsoft®. A front main switch, QR code access to device data and accessories, soft start, excellent magnetic coupling and two optimised temperature control modes support fast heating or precise tempering without overshoot. Safety provisions include an adjustable hotplate safety circuit, confirmation mode, residual-heat warning above 50 °C, automatic tempering shut-off if the external sensor is not immersed, IP42 closed design, fire-resistant die-cast aluminium housing and a DIN 12878 socket for contact thermometers such as ETS-D5. Certified to IEC 61010-1 (cTÜVus) and suitable for unattended operation per DIN EN 61010-2-010.
