Description

DURAN® low-form beaker, 5000 ml, is a borosilicate glass 3.3 laboratory vessel with white graduation and pouring spout for routine preparation, mixing and heating work. With a nominal volume of 5 l, an outer diameter of 170 mm and a height of 270 mm, it offers a stable, wide base suited to larger sample volumes while remaining easy to handle on the bench. The low-form (Philips) profile improves access for stirring and observation, and the spout supports controlled transfer of liquids. Manufactured to DIN 12 331 and supplied from manufacturer Hirschmann, the beaker uses the well-known DURAN® borosilicate glass 3.3, valued for thermal shock resistance and chemical durability in general laboratory service. Clear white graduations assist approximate volume reading during media make-up, buffer preparation and process steps that do not require volumetric class A accuracy. Ideal for chemistry, life-science and industrial labs needing a robust 5-litre glass beaker with graduation and spout in a single-piece pack.

Questions about BEAKERS LOW FORM DURAN 5000 ML, WITH GRADUATION AND SPOUT

What is this article?

BEAKERS LOW FORM DURAN 5000 ML, WITH GRADUATION AND SPOUT is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hirschmann for laboratory use. It sits in Beakers, inside Beakers & flasks, in Matériel de laboratoire.

A beaker is an open, straight-sided working vessel with a spout. It is for dissolving, heating and pouring. The graduations are a guide, not a volumetric calibration. Low form and tall form differ in stability and in how easily a liquid splashes.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
