Description

BOLA GL reducers GL 45 – GL 25 PTFE/PPS are laboratory thread adapters for converting a GL 45 screw-cap connection to a GL 25 threaded reducing connector. The black screw cap is made of PPS, while the movable reducing stub is PTFE and sealed with an FKM O-ring, so the process medium contacts only PTFE. Because the reducing stub can turn freely, vessels can be exchanged without first dismantling connected tubing or instruments, and hoses and cables do not twist during rotation. The adapter is suitable for hose outer diameters from 1,6 mm to 14,0 mm and supports chemically resistant fluid handling on GL-threaded laboratory bottles and apparatus. Supplied as one piece with a net weight of 0,0588 kg, this fitting from manufacturer Bohlender belongs to the BOLA range of laboratory connectors for glass and plasticware workflows. It is intended wherever a reliable GL 45 to GL 25 transition, free rotation of the reducer, and PTFE-wetted media contact are required in routine laboratory setups.

Questions about BOLA GL-Reductions, GL 45 - GL 25 PTFE/PPS

What is this article?

BOLA GL-Reductions, GL 45 - GL 25 PTFE/PPS is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Matériel de laboratoire.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
