Description

BOLA GLS reducers GLS 80 – GL 18 PP are laboratory thread adapters that convert a GLS 80 screw-cap neck to a GL 18 threaded outlet. Each unit combines a blue polypropylene (PP) screw cap with a movable PP reducing connector sealed by an FKM O-ring, enabling a secure transition onto GL-thread fittings. The freely rotating reducing connector lets operators change the vessel without first disconnecting attached apparatus, because tubing and cables do not twist during rotation. The GL 18 stub accepts hose outer diameters from 1,6 mm to 10,0 mm, supporting flexible feed lines on larger GLS 80 bottles, reactors and storage vessels. Offered as a single piece with a net weight of 0,0611 kg, the reducer is suited to routine laboratory material handling, sampling lines and process connections where polypropylene chemical resistance and quick vessel changeovers are required. These BOLA fittings from manufacturer Bohlender integrate cleanly into analytical and preparative set-ups that rely on standardised GL and GLS thread systems.

Questions about BOLA GLS-Reductions, GLS 80 - GL 18 PP

What is this article?

BOLA GLS-Reductions, GLS 80 - GL 18 PP is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Matériel de laboratoire.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
