Description

Crucible with filter plate, porosity 2, is a laboratory filter crucible offering 30 ml nominal volume and 35 mm diameter, supplied in a pack of ten pieces. Each unit is made from high-quality borosilicate glass LBG 3.3 and fitted with an integral filter plate of porosity grade 2 (pore size range 40–90 µm). The medium-fine porosity supports solid–liquid separation, precipitate collection and gravimetric procedures where consistent retention is needed. Maximum recommended temperature is 220 °C, provided heating and cooling are applied slowly and in a controlled manner to protect the sintered disc and glass wall. Available from manufacturer Labbox as a ten-piece pack, these crucibles are convenient for laboratories that run parallel filtrations or maintain a ready stock of identical filter vessels. The combination of borosilicate LBG 3.3 chemical resistance, fixed porosity 2 plate and 30 ml working volume suits analytical filtration, sample work-up and teaching applications. Pack net weight is 0,440 kg. Using an integrated filter plate reduces the need for separate filter media and keeps filtration and subsequent handling within a single glass crucible.

Questions about Crucible with filter plate, porosity 2, cap. 30 ml , Ø 35 mm, 10 pcs

What is this article?

Crucible with filter plate, porosity 2, cap. 30 ml , Ø 35 mm, 10 pcs is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Consommables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
